The public sphere has exploded with transgender obsession and no one is asking why or thinks it's odd? Serious answer, it's because of the rapidly growing acceptance of them. There are people who still consider them mutilated freaks, who just up out of nowhere adopted the transgender "culture", and the idea of them convincing their children to do the same is a great way to fearmonger. None of that is based in reality, but that's what happens when you cling to an unchanging fundamental view of the world. Just a couple years ago we were pretending that being gay was a choice. Basically it's just them digging a deeper whole, since we're all still pissed about the way they treated the gays. One day they'll pretend they were cool with transgender people all along.
