Yes and no. Those were basically lazy ass garbage sharks that have learned things that come from a boat are food. Typically they're blue, mako or the odd tiger (and imo that was a smaller tiger or bull shark based on head shape) and those guys aren't picky with their meals.

If you want to read something truly terrifying, read survivor accounts from the USS Arizona. Battleship sank in WWIl, over 1000 men died. The survivors basically grabbed onto what they could or formed a human "ball" to stay warm and every so often they'd see a man just get pulled under, could feel the sharks bumping into them etc. They were adrift for at least overnight and dozens of men were taken by sharks.

USS Indianapolis but yeah, a lot of the sailors who survived the initial sinking got eaten by sharks. There was just over a thousand sailors on that ship, 300 died in the initial sinking and only 316 were rescued. The rest died from sharks, dehydration, and salt water poisoning.
