They fired the manager, gave me all the responsbilities but not a payrise. Got a fancy title and worked my ass off to hit every fucking KPI was I given. I was like "Surely they recongize my hard work and reward me!"
They wouldn't give a shit if I burned to death in front of them. Meanwhile random useless friends of people in charge got given cushy jobs for no reason.
Someone I knew was getting paid only a little bit less than I was and spent 90% of their day just online shopping and farting around because they had no real work or responsibilites.
The last straw was when they hired guys who were friends of the boss to the provide drivers for Van Fleet including people who had been fired before for violence.
It was the first job I ever quit. A year or two before I would have been like "I'm no quitter! I'll prove myself!" like an idiot.
Glad to hear you woke up. I knew a guy who worked himself into a heart attack in that situation.
