I guess he didn't learn from that lesson with our bear friend the other day. If you smash their nest, hornets always gonna be like

Also, Ive destroyed dozens of hornets nests before with zero stings. Not sure why its so hard. You dont physically attack one. Spray it down with wasp killer or flood underground ones with water. They dont associate poison spray or suffocation as an attack by you at all.

And if you're super paranoid about them like I am, it's best to wait until after the sun goes down. I don't know if they're sleeping or the lack of light makes it harder for them to navigate or what, but they're much less prepared for battle at night.
