Kinda irrelevant, as she's an American artist, and there's a limit to how much you can aspect one to balance the entire world's cultural subtleties. Saying you're going to bugger someone is offensive in UK/Australia, but has little relevance to American English ears. Just how it goes.

There's no such thing as non-global celebrities anymore, so I'm not saying the complaints aren't unwarranted. But it was surprising how "big" of an issue it became, especially when that's rather tame compared to a LOT of other lyrics from other artists. The difference, again, is Lizzo has made it part of her identity to care about stuff like that, so she essentially invited the problem onto herself.
