Deadlifts are exhausting but I hardly ever do them. They're more taxing on the cns than they are beneficial for your muscles. With that said, it's a good idea to do them on occasion. I mean lifting heavy things and putting them down is the foundation of weight lifting... obviously.

I am an athlete and body builder and I've had zero problems getting good pumps at planet fitness. They have multiple squat racks and a leg press I can put a dozen plus 45s on. Only thing is they're smith machines so you gotta find other ways to target those stabilizing muscles. For legs I do weighted box steps and one leg deadlifts.
