Mortal Kombat (SNES)

Maybe it was because I was playing the SNES version but this game is ROUGH. The controls are janky as hell. Even on the easiest difficulty it still felt like the AI cheats you. And the worst of it are the 3 Endurance Fights where you have to fight two characters back-to-back in a single round, and you still have to win 2 rounds to proceed.

I think I'd recommend the arcade version for anyone wanting to play this unless they're an SNES aficionado like me or they want to try it on Sega Genesis. That said, I wouldn't say this game stacks up well to other fighting games on SNES, but thankfully the sequels seem a lot more well liked.
