man I looked up and understood Hellraiser 8 (Hellworld) was an original script then tacked on to Hellraiser but wow it was REALLY just tacked on

it's just some beyond stupid party (that turns out to be an induced hallucination) where people are given a mask and a phone supposedly to hook up with others you call, but like everyone is repeatedly taking off their masks for the camera it's like why tf is this a thing, and the phones, dudes, it's a party with blaring music and people are supposed to be attentive to their phones during a party?

and then the kills are more like Jigsaw traps and completely unrelated to any Cenobites, some randomly appear during a killing but the big "reveal" is that the whole thing is just a revenge plot by the creepy middle-aged host and there is no party, the victims were drugged and buried alive (with a breathing tube) to hallucinate their own punishments

after the movie is all wrapped is when the puzzle box is actually discovered, the Cenobites just show up and kill the host and that's the grand total of their actual existence in this entire thing

this is the worst one yet

*edit* oh yeah and the surviving two were saved by a ghost calling the police to share the location they've been buried for days
