I think most people trust "the government" around 40%, meanwhile people believe in conspiracy crap either 80% or 0%, so you just get a different kind of spread in a binary poll. It depends which part of the government for me? If it's NASA or the CDC I'm pretty much going to believe it 99% of the time. Politicians lie all the time though so they deserve our distrust.
