Good not great. Definitely a must play if you like Final Fantasy Tactics / Tactics Ogre. It's biggest strength is the strategy itself. The actual maps are challenging, especially if you're like me and you go for a no-death run. There's no perma-death, so that was just a self-imposed challenge I put myself through.

As for the morality/branching story system, I wasn't a huge fan. It was so obtuse that getting the best ending on a single playthrough without a guide is extremely difficult if not impossible. I found myself suddenly locked out of an option through what seemed like no fault of my own, so I was forced to make a story decision I didn't want to make.

The story itself is pretty standard fantasy fare (some might say bland or even boring). I agree with the complaint that it's overwritten. It has some great moments but for the most part it's forgettable. The voice acting is notably bad. I blame Covid?

Maybe the most disappointing aspect of the game is the music, which is completely forgettable. I feel like if you're going to make a Tactics homage, you should try and get the music right.

7/10 because the gameplay is that good.
