Sephiroth is just a world ending threat with a big sword, stalker/mommy issues, and a legion of fanboys and fangirls, but isnt terribly interesting beyond that.
Yuna loses points for being a withdrawn wallflower and then gaining them back for being one of the only characters to actually grow somewhat in the sequel.
Y'shtola is interesting as far as FFXIV companions go. She's played up to be this classy, hyper-competent researcher and yet it clashed with her penchant of being suicidally risk taking (see: "Flow"), and she gets the wind let out of her sails a lot in the Endwalker post-patches especially. A lot of her points goes towards her interactions with Matoya, though, since she's kind of boring in comparison to the rest of your group apart from the occasional burn.
