It feels like a 2D Mario game. Which is SSS+ tier. It should not feel like Rayman, or Megaman, or Donkey Kong. What I notice that it does do that is a significant change from prior games is that the level design uses a lot more setpieces and gimmicks on a per-stage basis. Similar to Donkey Kong or Rayman.
