trying to let more time pass between updates, also kinda staying in bed a lot because fuck it's cold here

thursday or friday gbro called gdad from prison but gdad didn't answer because it was listed as suspected spam. after a while gdad google the number and saw it was the prison so he went into a panic looking things up and coming to me to help which I obliged. found out how visitation works and gdad set up his first one yesterday (saturday)

called me after about a big sob story trying to paint gbro as so apologetic and asking for his mommy to say sorry - but unfortunately neither the primary nor secondary sources are reliable here - gbro knows to put on an act, and gdad desperately wants to paint as rosey a picture as possible and even without situations this dire gdad is known to completely make shit up that he claims other people said. but whatever he asked to pass the message gbro wants to see gmom so we did, and gmom rightfully doesn't want to because of all the absolutely heinous shit he's done/said to her & her partner

today we set up for me to bring some stuff over to gdad's we've been trying to get for a while, I stuck around for a couple hours to watch some shows and try to help him get a glimpse of normal life again but ultimately with the intention to come back here again. which gdad was fine with, no comment, all cool and I got to grab some more things from my room I needed (including a space heater as per earlier mention that it's fucking cold here)

as I gdad was about to drop me back tho, gbro called from the prison so uh quickly went back inside. thankfully gdad didn't mention that I was sitting right there so I didn't have to get into it, but I mean he doesn't sound as apologetic as gdad tries to paint him. sure he says he wants to say sorry to gmom (for "being rude or whatever" lol) but that's preceded by him mentioning he needs her to offer him surety again (not a chance of happening). pushes gdad to tell me and gsis to convince her so that's obviously the context of his "apology" - he needs her for his hope to get out on bail.

gbro asked gdad what gsis said and gdad just plays along "oh she understands what you're going through!" which lol definitely isn't her position but gdad knows the truth would make gbro mad. gdad TRIES to tell gbro that if he gets out he has to be a good boy and not to go out and do drugs, as gdad says he didn't know he was doing that.... and gbro responds brushing that off and emphasizing that gdad messed up by calling the cops on him and highlighting THAT as the problem instead. to gdad's credit he tries to push back a bit (probably because I'm obviously right there and gdad knows I'm not buying his fantasy) but ultimately it falls to gbro saying "I'm not blaming it all on you but it's mostly your fault! you shouldn't have told the police!" gdad a says he just wants to help and gbro retorts "if you want to help you shouldn't call the police because they don't want to help!" so yeah I'm not at all getting the sense of any growth.

so yeah right now gbro is trying to pursue bail which means it may take a while for this to come to a head and we can start hoping for normalcy. I'm at least glad to have had a mostly-normal visit with gdad watching our shows together but yeah that's it for now.

unfortunately our psychologist caught covid last week so yeah that's been an unfortunately stumble
