The main reason is the Universal distribution rights fiasco, and since Disney owns Marvel, they don't want another studio to have the distribution rights to their films. It's just a shame, though, because the Hulk seems to have a great deal of iconic comic runs that Marvel could use for their stories. It's actually crazy just hearing how many he has compared to other superheroes where people seem to hate more of the runs than they actually like. He even just had one a few years ago that people hailed as a classic. It's not a lack of source material, and deep down, people love super strength as a power. They go crazy for Hulk Smash.
