Lugia Suicune Unown Ho-Oh is a box art legendary that got that very early appearance in the anime. Lugia is a box art legendary that got its own movie. Suicune got its own game. Then it gets harder. Togepi, Pichu, Marill, Wobuffet, and any of the starters all have a case to be made for them as do Celebi, Entei (not Raikou lol) and Tyranitar. However I think Unown is the best choice here due to its unique nature, being the focus of a movie, and having a huge amount of the contemporary marketing focus on it.
