This is true and important (Spiderman exempted) I think there's a genuine argument for having an S tier of recognition for Superman, Batman and Spidey because those three completely dominate any other comic characters in recognizability. Set those aside and I think 'who's an A-lister comics character?' makes a lot more sense.
