netflix has fucked up so many times that i have no desire to give them anymore chances for a very long time. what they did to cowboy bebop should have landed them in prison. I'd agree with all of this. But I'd also like to include Amazon and Apple TV in that list of shame, because of the corpse-raping they did to Wheel of Time, Rings of Power, and Foundation. I'm not even sure why major studios bother adapting existing properties (especially from books) at all at this point, because they never seem to want to do anything that ever actually appeals to fans. While non-fans will never become fans because they don't care about the IP in the first place, and aren't likely to bother trying it when the only feedback they hear is fans shouting about how shit it all is. The whole point of adapting something that's already popular is to keep all the aspects that made it popular in the first place but signal boost them to a new audience. But shit writers with unearned egos think they know better than the people who already succeeded, and try to force their own conflicting vision onto things until all they're left with is a stupid boring mess. --- "Wall of Text'D!" --- oldskoolplayr76 "POwned again." --- blight family ...
