40. Phineas Filch

Eagle-eyed readers of this list might have noticed that Phineas Filch escaped the bottom of this list. That's because I can't think of any character where it would be more confusing if they won. Phineas Filch is such a profoundly forgettable and terrible choice for this popularity poll that it makes him an inherently hilarious choice to me - a truly high-class shitpost, one that marks you as a true diehard fan of the series if you're in on the joke. Can you even imagine the illustrator having to draw this guy? He probably doesn't even REMEMBER designing this asshole. "Who the fuck is Phineas Filch again?" Definitely not a good winner based on MERIT, but I would be delighted if people somehow shitposted him into a win solely because of how strange it is.

39. Athena Cykes

I feel bad about this, guys. I feel bad for Athena that she hasn't gotten better material to work with, that her debut game is awkwardly smashed into the middle of the trilogy here, that she has to share the limelight with Phoenix's triumphant return and Apollo being the main arc of the trilogy. At the end of the day I just have to admit that the idea of Athena winning the poll would bore me. I feel bad about it! I want to root for Athena but I'm staring at a LONG list of characters who I want to win more.

38. Sasha Buckler

Sasha is a great character so I know this seems really low, but I have two reasons. One, she's already gotten plenty of due in her own case - she had like a full intro cinematic and everything. And two, she wouldn't even want you to vote for her! She'd want you to vote for Orla!

37. Uendo Toneido

Four for the price of one! Uendo and his other personalities are all a delight. I don't really have any particular reason for this one, I just like them, and 6-4 still rules so that gives it some extra weight for me. The idea of a 6-4 character winning is hilarious.
