What I don't get is why he got life for that one murder. Seems like there's more to it.

Also fair odds that they deliberately give him a way to get access to child rapists while maintaining plausible deniability.

Also, reading the stories, the image in the first post is very, very deceptive. He complained to the Prison counselor that he wouldn't be able to control himself, if they didn't move him. One of the inmates (whom he beat to death), then put on PBS with kids on, and when asked to change the channel, seemed to ignore it and continued to goat him.
They (as in the prison system), surprise-surprise didn't move him, and in what appears to be some form of mental health episode, he killed the two inmates. Then he had to go get the guards, as they hadn't noticed the ultra violence he was involved in.
Now, the only thing the image seems to be correct about, is the two individuals do seem to have child sexual offenses.
