I have a hunch if you tried to research hormone therapy you'd probably find a lot of stuff about it being used to "cure" homosexuals between the 20s and 60s
Even further back, Chevalier d' Eon who lived through 1720's to 1810 lived more of her life as a woman and multiple cultures have had non-binary gender identities stretching back into the BCs.

Being trans and non-binary have existed orders of magnitude longer than the people decrying those identities.
