you're insulting the person. that is by definition ad hominem. It quite literally isnt. You didnt have to double down and make yourself look silly. This fallacy occurs when, instead of addressing someone's argument or position, you irrelevantly attack the person or some aspect of the person who is making the argument. Note the words instead of. And someones argument or position. There was no argument or position to address. They literally just feigned ignorance of how vaccines work, with no actual point, which I then pointed out was ignorance. Similarly, if you address someones position or argument AND insult them? Still not ad hominem. Because then it isnt INSTEAD OF. Every insult is not ad hominem. You just dont know what the term means. finally: saying someone does not know a thing they are actively demonstrating they dont know isnt an insult.
