Only three states currently have heat exposure standards for all outdoor workersCalifornia, Minnesota and Washington, according to OSHAbut Oregon, Colorado and Nevada implemented rules requiring mandatory breaks, shade and cold water last year. Seems like the majority of America goes by the federal requirements. I think all states should adopt mandatory water/shade breaks. With that said, Ive never been denied a water break or a moment to cool off at any of the jobs Ive worked Florida.
