Yes, that's what I said. The correct play would be taking the bill off the table immediately and then slamming Trump and the GOP for having no principles or beliefs that they won't even vote for their own border policy, not pleading for Trump (who Biden has repeatedly called a danger to democracy) to work with him to pass it. This border bill is one of the most cartoonishly authoritarian bills I have ever seen in my life and it never should have been introduced, but that's the correct play with the hand Biden had. He was asking him to stop getting in the way of it/the issue. That's as far as I saw in the cooperation he asked for. He knows Trump well and has been caught on a hot mic insulting him, so I don't think he'd actually want his help on passing it, just stop being in the way. The bill's already done.
