are you glad you got those degrees looking back though?Hell yeah Ignoring the fact that when my defense started to come up I kinda wanted to isekai myself because most people at that stage do, both of them were full rides with stipends, I met great friends there who I still keep in touch with regularly (one lives like 20 miles from me in the DC area now), and a PhD in CS gives me a lot of options for employment. I've been at a government research lab for almost a decade now, and if I wanted to I could still go the professor route (will probably do adjunct eventually on the side) or go industry like some of my former coworkers at the lab have done. You're slightly more limited if you just go BS and MS since companies/agencies will view you only as a code monkey and not somebody who can perform research as well. --- Roll Tide & Go Irish ...
