Before anyone tries to Eastersplain to me how the date is determined, stop typing. I know.

That said March is too early for Easter. Not only is spring barely getting started if at all in late March but it's too close to St.Patrick's Day. There's hardly time to switch moods and prepare for Easter when it's two weeks after St. Patrick's Day at most.

Not to mention biblical scholars are fairly confident in that Jesus of Nazareth died in either 30 or 33 both years that would have had the crucifixion take place on either April 3, or April 7 respectively. Ergo according to Christians the resurrection would have happened on either the 5th or the 9th.

If we fixed the date of Easter to be closer to those dates it would make it easier for schools, colleges and the workplace to get time off if they had a reliable date to break over.

Our spring holiday has been held hostage by that lifeless tide locked rock long enough. Give Easter the Thanksgiving treatment and the holiday will reach its full potential. In my lifetime I've had two Easter Fool's Days and next year will make two Easter weed days. Let's not do that anymore.

End rant
