If anything, we should increase our oil consumption by running our vehicles all day but facing them in the opposite direction of earth's rotation (east?). This will counteract the climate change and save the polar bears from coming ever southward and mating with any bear shaped species it can find. Science, motherfucker! --- I don't believe in belts.
