1) holy shit did no one call the cops or bust down a door? Neighbors, a baby is crying, with no adult in sight? Id imagine someone should have called after1 day of constant screams at the latest? How did literally no one intervene? I feel this infants death is on way more than just the mom at this point. Dozens of people had to ignore this. What the heck are all their excuses?

2) She gave the baby 3 bottles. If youre going to starve someone, you dont give them food. She has another child that she didnt starve to death. All this says to me she actually thought everything would be alright, and shes just walk home back from vacation to a happy, healthy, smiling baby.

so not that it makes much of a difference, but Im not seeing the contempt that everyone is jumping to. I see someone who, for whatever reason, completely lost her grasp on reality. like one day something just broke. The method doesnt match the motive.

I'm sorry, but you don't leave a child unattended for that long and just think they're going to be fine, under any circumstances. Likewise, you can't just expect the neighbors to hear a crying baby that is locked inside of a house.

This post feels like you're doing everything in your power to make excuses for her choices. It feels incredibly weird that you're trying to blame other people, while also trying to excuse the mother of her actions.

How can you say "I can't believe the neighbors didn't hear something and report it, they should be blamed!" in one sentence, and then say "I feel like the mother legitimately expected to return to a happy, smiling baby" in the next sentence?
