Read the rules before nominating or Jonesy wins

Hey, it's Snake, and I'm taking over the next decade of this contest series because previous runner tazzy didn't feel like doing it / wasn't going to do it for a while. It's completely with their blessing and I'm excited to run this because I think the series is fun, I haven't ran anything in a long time, and the 2010s has some amazing characters not to be overlooked!

I copied/pasted most of this from tazzy's rules with minor tweaks to reflect the decade and my own preferences. I wanted the basic integrity of the series to be intact.

RULES
  • You have 20 individual nominations to use toward any 2010s video game character
  • There is currently no set amount of nominations needed to achieve placement in the bracket. Participation will be monitored and I will review the counts throughout the week to determine what the amount should be set at.
  • There are currently 64 open spots in the bracket. This will not change.
  • This is specifically decade of origin. If a character has appearances in the future outside of the decade that's totally fine. Even if you would say you only like Doom Slayer because of the reboot games, he is NOT eligible for the 2010s.
  • Characters must have either originated from a video game, or be primarily known for being a video game character. This can be a bit wonky and we'll have to go on a case-by-case basis for some, I'm sure, but just don't nominate Spider-Man or some shit (that goes EXTRA for this decade).
  • Characters must have made their first appearance within this decade. Seems self-explanatory
  • Inanimate objects do not count as characters. I don't care if MatPat has some theory on the Tetrominoes actually being humans in purgatory. Don't do this.
  • If the first appearance of a character happened in different decades within different territories (i.e. 1999 in Japan, but 2000 in the U.S.), then they can be eligible for both, but may only appear in one contest. Use nominations wisely in these edge cases!
  • No nomination changing after a character is locked into the bracket. This one won't come into effect until I specifically announce it. You can still change your other nominations at any point, and you can put a nomination toward anything locked in for the sake of granting a higher seeding, we just can't be removing nominations from "safe" characters.
  • Seeding help will return, so remember you can continue supporting characters so they can get better seeds.
Ongoing Nomination Document I will try to keep relatively updated:

I've decided to put my fears behind me. I'm not going back.
