I mean I heard a baby crying for like 2 hours once around 5 am when I was doing an all nighter and I checked to see what was wrong.

It turned out to be a cat screaming incessantly in my driveway for no reason and not a baby at all, but I'd like to think if I heard a baby crying for a whole fucking day I'd call the police for a wellness check.

The issue is we don't know the living situations. Obviously if houses are closer together, and the baby is in an outer room, then, yes, a neighbor is more likely to hear crying. However, a lot of factors can make it much harder for somebody to hear something.

Living in Nevada, houses are closer together than they were when I lived in Kentucky. I can... Sorta hear the neighbor, if they're absolutely screaming, or outside of their house, where I live now, whereas in Kentucky... Good luck. Likewise, when I lived in Ohio, the distance between houses was about in the middle, compared to Nevada and Kentucky, and I couldn't hear squat unless people were outside. That would obviously be different than, say, row homes, like in Philadelphia, where you literally share a wall.
