I've heard the argument that being hung upside down makes them die "instantly" when they cut the artery, but those bodies keep wriggling for a good while. Could argue the brain is already out cold and it's just muscle spasms, but no matter how you slice it, the knockout looks a lot more peaceful.im not an expert on cow biology but id think that if you cut their throat theyd suffocate. not sure sure if hanging them upside down changes much unless it makes them pass out or something. id assume the hanging upside down bit is to make it so the blood flows out easier more than anything ...
