The thing you're purposefully ignoring is that everyone has a limit for how many songs they're willing to listen to before they shut down and say fuck it. They'll support maybe a few things that pop up later that they know, and ignore the rest. Why not have people submit songs with the voting a week or two later then? You could easily have a master playlist for people to listen to in that time and also give folks a chance to think.
