It's been argued that Iran only retaliated due to public pressure in the country because people were saying that they were being soft on Israel. Sending 300 drones/missiles towards Israel sounds like a huge attack, but Iran gave Israel, the UK and the USA time to install defenses, and were even kind enough to send out the slow moving drones first so they'd knew the attack was coming.
