this is unfair to classic users who finally slip up after 20+ years. i was modded only once in the last decade.
There is a difference between being modded and being put in purgatory. Unless I'm misunderstanding, just being modded isn't going to get you kicked off of CE. You need to be "suspended". I can't think of the right terms at the moment -- it's been a long day.

I've been modded and had my messages deleted many times, but I've never been purged on this account. I have been suspended for a few days on my "main" account (my only other account) once back in 2020. And I deserved it because I was stressed out (like many others) about the upcoming US election. That's when I created this alt account and I couldn't believe GameFAQs even let you actually do that.

Anyway, I'm rambling . . . the point is: a small slip up shouldn't get you banned from CE. Please correct me if I'm wrong about that. But if you are purged, well, you probably deserved it. Long-time users (myself included) just need to be more careful from now on, which as I said in another topic isn't necessarily a bad thing. This site has become a cesspool and I'll admit that I've even become lazy and spout bullshit far to often "just because everyone else does."

I really don't think it's that bad that every user needs to step back and rethink how they approach posting here. Some civility and respect among users would be a nice change. And again, I'm including myself because I can be an opinionated asshole. If this motivates me to be nicer, that's great.

Now if it does include simple moderations, then yes you are right, that is unfair.

Sorry for the long response. Too tired to edit.
