If Current Events gets closed down I'm probably leaving this site. The console/game boards are toxic af.

I'm honestly surprised that they and the Sex boards were allowed it to continue for this long.
Anyhow, my theory is that they are going to nuke all of the non-topical social boards because this will make their stupid new rules much easier to follow and enforce, while leaving CE, at least for some time (8~9 months at least) as a containment zone for all of the social board talk. Plus, Timmy has been pretty clear that Fandom wants all Gamefaqs message board discussion to be relevant to videogames and gaming-related subjects.

Yeah that's lame, Now I do wonder if the sports and wrestling boards are safe.

I doubt those will be deleted very soon since they aren't intimately linked to politics. OTOH Religion, History, Ethics/Philosophy, and Paranormal/Conspiracy are nearly impossible to talk about without involving politics.

So anyhow, if there is anything you want to archive from the History or Paranormal/Conspiracy boards, now is the time to do it.
