Sony Pictures has jumped aboard the Hasbro bandwagon that Universal jumped off of. Sony is developing the animated film Tonka, based on the 65-year-old kiddie car brand. The studio announced the arrangement in a press release, with Sony Pictures Animation and Happy Madison Productions producing the movie with Hasbro. Adam Sandler and Jack Giarraputos Happy Madison is also producing a movie version of Hasbros Candy Land for Sony, and the studio is separately developing Hasbros Risk.
I for one wonder how the hell does Hollywood think they can make children games that has no plot whatsoever into 90+ minute movies. I mean, what goes on in their heads?

Especially after how Battleship has ended up being a massive bomb.

They should make a movie based on the the boardgame Life. That's the best boardgame.
Lies and slander. They already made a movie based on the best board game and the movie was great. Life can't hold a candlestick in the billiards room to Clue.
From: Liwakip | #008 I'm surprised that of all Hasbro franchises, no Hollywood studio has picked up the dreaded ponies yet... I'm sorry, but CGI (Surely not live action!) ponies sound like a terrible idea which would drive even the most hardcore Bronies away.

To be fair, Risk could be a GREAT movie in the right hands, and Candy Land will probably just be some kids movie (the board game DOES have characters in it. I even remember playing a Candyland PC game when I was a kid,)
i find it funny that, like 15-20 years ago, television used to be the place for lazy, uninspired ideas, and the movies had most of the quality writing and original ideas, and now it is pretty much the exact opposite
