I thought it was a glitch.

Also, I'm starting to realize how good of a year 2005 is. I thought 2015 would beat it but now I'm not so sure. Depends on if Undertale has stood the test of time haha.

Also, no FF13 in 2009 and no Lisa the Painful RPG/Ori and the Blind Forest? Wow.

Ok whatever year it is then, wikipedia said 2009 idk.

People hate on that game for dumb reasons. The only things I would have changed are the following:

1. The character's main roles should jave been divided up better. Each of the 6 roles should have been one of the 3 main roles on 3 characters. Of course, once everyone becomes everything it's not a big deal but yeah.

2. The mission where the tonberry kills one of the undying in one hit and then you fight him is stupid. Let me fight all the undying.

3. I wish each of the characters had a different all ATB move in a different one of the 6 roles. That would have been super cool.

Other than that the game's awesome. Sure Hope sucks, but you can ignore him. I put like 80 hours into chapter 11 and had a great time doing the missions in the open world. And that's not even the main game, the main game is also fun. People hate on it for being linear but FF10 is just as linear if not more so because it doesnt ever truly open up.

Idk, I was just surprised to see 15 as important and not 13. Yeah 13-2 sucks but 10-2 wasnt great either.

Why does it fail as a video game in your opinion?

It's linear, its tedious, it has no minigames, it has no towns, nothing going on except fighting and cutscenes, no customization until super late.

Gran Pulse was better but by that point I was already too angry

I guess Super Mario Bros isn't a game now

Lol

No I get what you mean. FF13 and Super Mario Bros are totally different genres haha. It did have the search for the baby chocobo thing but that's only a tiny little thing. And yes, the towns were replaced by vendor orbs but I didn't really mind that at all. No towns and mini games can definitely have a game seem souless tho so that makes sense.

However, for tediousness, linearity, and customization, Gran Pulse isn't just slightly better in those areas, it completely solves them imo. I get how that could be seen as too late since it takes like 20 hours to get there. But, if you do all there is to do in chapter 11, there is not much linearity or tediousness at all, and you already know they grant you a bunch of customization.

One thing people do that imo dampens the experience is they beat the game and then go back and do the missions. By then, stage 10 is unlocked and you can be so OP that you just blaze through everything without any need for strategy. I, however, did all of the missions before I left Chapter 11. I only had every character fully leveled in every role through Stage 9, and this made the missions more of a challenge. The game made me really think about who to have in my team and what very specific Paradigms to use and when to use them, and I didn't find that tedious in any way. Not to mention all of the different areas there are in that chapter holy dang what are there like 7? 8 if you include the section of the cave that's optional that opens when you do one of the missions? And there are more bosses than I can even count. I find that impressive, especially when most games only have boss counts in the single digits.

Idk man that's just what I think. Yes, it is kinda souless for not having many mini games or towns so if you like games with soul then yeah I guess this game would be kinda sucky for you but I think it more than makes up for that in the gameplay experience. Anyway that's my 2 cents, hope you give it another chance someday and maybe keep what I've said in mind.

i've always found it weird that the forum polls will show you what you've already voted for and won't let you vote again, but the front page polls still haven't been updated to be like this.
