There are a few games where I own two copies of the exact same game, but not many - mostly just when I wanted it on two different platforms, like I have Shovel Knight on both 3DS and PC

I'm pretty sure there's only one game I even own more than once, which is Final Fantasy IX, since I bought the Steam release also.

Oh thank god I thought I was the only person on this board that even played Quest for Glory.

My answer: Quest for Glory 1 VGA Remake - We owned the floppy disk version, then we got the Anthology version, and then I ended up buying the Collection on GOG because the Anthology CD was scratched right over the area that the Quest for Glory 4's speech files were located in (and also because I didn't own 5 yet)

I think the most I have sort of unintentionally is the original Metroid. I only bought it specifically on NES and I didn't like it. But it was included as an unlockable on Metroid Prime and Metroid Zero Mission, I got it as part of the 3DS Ambassador Program, and it was included on the NES Classic Edition. So I ended up with 4 more copies. It would be 5 if they hadn't taken it out of Prime on the trilogy collection on Wii.

This exactly. Wouldn't have gotten the 3DS version but it was part of a cheap Black Friday bundle with a limited edition 3DS I liked.

Oh I hadn't considered that. I'm not sure they would all count as "the same game" since some versions play quite a bit differently than others, but if they do then I think that must be it for me.

If I can distinguish EGA from VGA, then this is probably my answer as well. I have the collection on GOG and I still own my original floppy disk version of "Hero's Quest I".
