They only want to take your guns away if you're someone who treats it like a toy or fashion accessory and don't understand how serious gun ownership really is. If you're someone who would pull it out in a road rage incident because someone cut you off.

No, but seriously, who is taking your guns? I'm on the left and I don't support gun bans.

Multiple democratic administrations and majorities in Congress, yet no real gun bans. Just like multiple republican administrations and majorities in Congress, yet no overturning of Roe v Wade.

Some things are part of the campaign rhetoric because it's easy to rile people up over ideology.
