Abby has gotten better and better as she has been there longer. I'm kinda having the reverse effect on Ben though, thought he was pretty good when he just joined but has slid down to Brad tier since then.

Alex can just grate on me sometimes when Vinny and/or Dan start going off on a good tangent or just start playing a game in the not intended way and Alex just puts his foot down and trys to shut it down for some reason.

Abby was getting put on the spot a lot, at first, to be funny, and that's a surefire way to not be funny (but you kinda do have to do it to a new person, and get it over with, to get them fully integrated). She's rad now.

It seems like the playdate stuff plays more to her strengths. In the few pre-E3 podcasts I've listened to with her, it kind of seemed like she was out of her depth with a lot of what everyone else was talking about, and I think it suffered because of it. I kind of got that Jason vibe where she would just say "yeah" to everything that was being brought up with no way to contribute.

I'm glad to hear that she's found her footing though.

There's not much ripping on Castlevania. Brad is surprised there is still a fandom which is valid given his reasoning: there hasn't been a high profile Castlevania game in over 6 years, and fandoms do wither without new games. Look at Half-Life.

Although, Jeff does just dismiss the series outside the first three and SotN. Which is unusually shortsighted. The DS games are the best in the series.

I mean I can recognize Mario Kart 64 as better than Super Mario Kart, but I spent much more time with Super Mario Kart because I was the right age and it was so incredibly different at the time than anything else on the market.

In the case of Mario Kart, 64 is probably the worst in the series. However, not recognising DS or 8 for what they do is crazy. And hey, Star Fox dropped in quality so quickly it doesn't really matter.

ep 2 was a riot. reminded me of my time playing through all of 3d world with friends and us fucking up simple platforming parts. hilarious shit.

i do feel like we will be getting wild swings in quality because of how long i think this series will go. i can easily imagine them hitting a couple of walls later on if dan is to be believed that it gets way harder. there will be bad days when one or two of them won't have much patience for the camera and the controls!
