She was also a stringent Bernie Sanders supporter

Candlelit vigils will be held around the country for Heather and the 19 people injured in the attack

Video of the event shows a Dodge Challenger speeding down a street with people jumping out of the way and hitting the crowds. The tinted car then backed up trying to get away before he was finally taken down

The violent clashes between KKK groups and anti-fascist groups caused a State of Emergency in the state as the Governer told the racists to leave the state

Pictures are also emerging showing James marching with a racist right-wing group Vanguard America who opposes multiculturism and believes America is ane exclusively white country.

The racists were protesting over the removal of the statue Robert E Lee and demand their "heritage" be brought back to the state.

James Mother, Samantha Bloom allegedly said her son was attending a rally for Trump and not for white supremacists as she said she doesn't get involved with her son's politics and truly believed he was only protesting and not to cause harm.

Arbitrary application of the law defeats the point of having a legal system. It clearly doesn't qualify as a hate crime by any reasonable definition of hate crime legislation and a wrongful application would only make the situation worse. I'm not sure whether it could actually be classified as terrorism although it really doesn't seem like terrorism. As for the claims of him being rich or entitled, I'm not where that's coming from -- just the fact that he's white? -- because he's the child of a single mom who, instead of going to college like almost 70% of the US population, had enrolled in the military. As such, he hardly sounds rich or privileged, he sounds lower-middle-class or worse off.

In general, you don't need special charges. Just give him the normal sentence, which should be more than enough considering he'll probably get time for the murder and then one count of assault for each person he hit who didn't die.

Best part about that is I honestly believe some people are stupid enough to think that's what "hate crime" means.

Thinking that "hate crime" shouldn't be a possible charge is ignorant. They'll often defend their position by saying that it somehow threatens free speech.

It's already law pretty much everywhere that you're not allowed to utter threats of violence towards others. Is that a violation of free speech that they think should be legalized? The concept of "hate crime" is the same. Nobody deserves to have their rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness threatened by ignorant assholes in their community. That's precisely where the line is drawn when it comes to free speech.
