I beat LK with Rogue in like, 5 tries.

Fledglings, Sludge Belcher, Bonemare, etc. Tomb Pillagers and Vilespines. Piloted Shredders.

Really, all it takes is an early Keleseth and a good Fledgling or two.

I was thinking Rogue was the opposite of Hunter where you took damage for spells, not actual spell removal. That should make it a lot easier since it's one of the deck thinning challenges. Since that's the case, honestly I don't even know if it needs a special deck or if I can just put a good solid deck together and win with it.


FWIW, you don't really need Murk Eye. Warleader and Megasaur are pretty much necessary though but they are both fantastic epics so there's that!

I did it without Murk Eye or Megasaurs. Obviously it takes a bit longer but it's doable. You reset until you get a Tidecaller -> Rockpool -> Warleader/Coldlight Seer curve and hope your draws are kind. Primalfin Lookout is fine as a Megasaur replacement.

Ended up going 10-3 with the crazy Druid deck I drafted earlier. I lost the last game to a shaman because I was playing around hex too much. I played my 3/8 taunt instead of the 6/8 taunt and he was able to trade but keep his minions alive.

Ultimate infestation is absolutely ridiculous in arena though if anyone was still wondering. That card alone probably ensures you get at least 5 wins.

And yeah, Rogue didn't even need a gimmick. Just threw a bunch of good Rogue cards into the deck and won on my first attempt. Didn't hurt that I got two of those +2/+2 can't be targeted spells and buffed the crap out of five minions...

Mage is the only one I have left. Almost did it a few times but I have to dodge anti magic shell and get an insanely good mulligan. I don't have molten giants.

Anyways

Priest: Just played a normal priest deck >.>

Rogue: Played a miracle variation. Basically I got a ton of coins and then summoned huge questings and van cleef.

Paladin: Hid behind taunts, buffs, stega, etc. During the frostmourne phase (where he doesn't play anything). Just played the death knight and won by hero power. As a nice tidbit, there is an extra interaction here.

Shaman: Played murloc/aggro. I don't have any war leaders or gentle megasaur. So it was a little more difficult than I think some people have.

Hunter: Made a huge Hyena and Fledgling.

Warlock: Played a very bad version of like hand lock or control warlock. Whatever. When I say bad, I mean I don't have any good warlock cards minus like Jurraxus.

Druid: Played Jade. Like the old jade (with auctioneer) not the new one because I don't have ultimate.

Warrior: Literally used alarmobot.

Woot got rank 10. I lack the time and skill for 5 each month so I set my goal at 10.

Taunt Warrior is still pretty good! Feasts on all the aggro and priest running around right now, gets dumpstered by rogue/druid, can usually beat murlocs with win axe.

it is pretty nuts, yeah. the one weakness is that you can be rushed down and killed by about turn 7/8 in arena, and there isn't really as much ramp in arena either. so there's definitely the main drawback of any 10 mana card that you may not get the chance to play it.

Elise
Lyra
The Lich King

Like Elise is not that important. But Raza and Shadowreaper are among the most important cards in the deck as I have not won a game where I have not played either of them.

Is it just me or is spreading the plague the actual worst druid card right now.

I guess I just hate cards that punish your opponent for uh playing the game while you were druid and did nothing but ramp and then get a board full of 1/5s for only 5 mana.

I'm probably just salty I can't win with poor arthas. Uther never had this problem!

Also. I feel like I can push legend. But I dont feel like grinding. I'm at five and have been going back and forth between it and four. But I basically have 4 decks I can play (Highlander Priest, Silence Priest, Jade Rogue, and Miracle Rogue). And the latter two have issues right now.

I also guess I can make Jade Druid. I have all the cards for it minus an ultimate infestation and maybe a couple of commons or something. (I'm also missing Malf) But I don't really want to do that.

Yea this is really awesome. Really brings the pain when combined with the hero power too, plus you can respawn any infernos that died.

Only downside is that your health is still capped to 15 so the lifesteal isn't as strong.

I agree with Reynad that Innervate should instantly be removed from standard.

Also, I think decks like Big Priest need to be looked at. Not because they are strong, but because of the actual experience you have playing against the deck. IMO this expansion has made more decks that are plain out unfun to play against than any other set.

I lost one like this yesterday:


Turn 1: Hallucination
Turn 2: Kindly Grandmother (created by Hallucination) + Preparation + Fan of Knives (cleared my minions) + Counterfeit Coin (drawn from Fan of Knives) + Swashburglar + Preparation + Dinomancy (created by Swashburglar)

I didn't draw removal and I was always one mana or one damage short of clearing the beast, and he killed me with like an 11 or 13 attack beast.


Not really an indication of Rogue being broken, but it was just an insane off the wall sequence and draw, the likes of which I'll probably never experience again.

I got Arthas! The alarmo bot warrior deck did it for me. I wish the DK Uther card turned Arthas into the lick king when used.

I kinda want to play a Galvadon deck now. It shouldn't be TOO much worse than buff paladin, they already run spikeridged steeds anyway.

Nourish is fine. Maybe they can change it if you ramp you dont get two free crystals to use. Nourish used to be considered almost unplayable.

Also Ultimate is strong, but only because so much ramp exists. IMO it's a card that unless something like jade comes out when they rotate out the card becomes a lot worse since stuff like Mire Keeper, Jade Blossom, etc are all leaving.

But Innervate is a classic set card. It has been causing issues since the base game. Getting rid of innervate significantly hits all druid archetypes. It stops aggro from getting starts you can't win against, stops fanderal bs, stops 8 mana UI, and so on.

I think retooling innervate would be pretty effective, honestly.

Instead of giving you two mana crystals this turn it can be "Your Next Minion Costs 2 Less" which makes it kinda like Preperation and prevents the swingy spells Druid has from being so swingy (Like Innervate + UI for example)

Nourish was unplayable back when your curve was worse due to Force/Roar and Azure Drakes. Plus the deck was much faster, and you had Lore to draw. When all those (and Keeper) were nerfed, it became an instant staple. The problem is now Druid has the best draw power in the game. Its ramp and draw have hit a critical mass and Nourish does both so I think it's one of the best candidates for a nerf.

I'd rather have Innervate moved to HoF than altered . Put Not-Quite-Black-Lotus in Not-Quite-Vintage where it belongs, and keep cycling ramp cards in standard sets like they have been.

Spreading Plague also probably needs to go. It turned around too many matchups.

I'd much prefer Innervate get halled rather than changed. I don't really want to see any cards from the original set changed, even Win Axe which I absolutely hate.

I can't even post this, it's just not true. I would love to see Win Axe turned into a 2/3 weapon that gives charge minions charge.

I like the idea of let innervate refresh 2 empty crystals but not take you above your current max.

So for example with 5 mana you can play a 5, innervate, play a 2. Or play a 4, innervate, play a 3. But you can't play a 7.

Also, with Spreading Plague, it needs an upper limit, yeah. It coexisting with cards like forbidden ritual is beyond dumb. Just make it a flat pay 5 summon 3 1/5s or whatever.

yeah the first vs second gap does not seem to be very large right now. seems like your case is somewhat special. could be a weird stroke of good and bad luck synched up perfectly to skew the stats, or it could be that your personal skill at playing second is worse than playing first. depending on how many games you've actually played one of these is more likely than the other.

I Was Offered: Druid/Hunter/Shaman
I Picked: Hunter


Not in the mood to play Druid right now.

Draft: Corpse Widow and Scavenging Hyena as my synergy picks. Got a few Beasts, including Knuckles, in the draft. Was not offered a single one drop. Got a ton of three drops, and not much of anything else. The curve is very much centered around turn 3 for this deck apparently. Overall quality was average, but on the high end of average.

Game 1: Vs Rogue. I went Second. Strong opener. Ironically I did not drop a 3 cost card in my starting hand. Had a really strong turn 1, 2, and 3, but whiffed pretty hard on turn 4 and had a weak turn 5 play. By turn 6 it was a close game again. He sets up a poisonous minion behind a taunt and manages to get insane value off of it despite being pretty damn greedy. I just didn't have any good plays really to even attempt to get back on the board. He plays Cobalt Scalebane and I don't have any way to answer it. His already winning board state gets more out of control. Loss.

Funny enough, I completed my Play 50 Paladin Cards quest while playing this game, thanks to grimestreet informant.

Game 2: Vs Rogue. I went Second. Similar opener to last time. Weeeiirrddd coincidence. I literally make the same turn 1, 2, and 3 plays. But at least his are different so it's not a total deja vu. Major difference is that he doesn't do much of anything on turn 2 or 3 and it's my board that quickly grows out of control. Win.

Game 3: Vs Rogue. I went First. Wtf. Well at least I went First this time. Had a weaker opener than last time but it didn't seem to matter. Win.

Game 4: Vs Warrior. I went Second. Honestly despite Warrior supposedly being a bottom tier class my track record against them in Arena is not great this season. Going second with a weak opener has me feeling a bit anxious. It ends up being a pretty drawn out game with both of us going into topdeck mode. I'm ahead but he could easily stabilize if I have a bad draw. His draws were pretty bad and mine were pretty good. Win.
