was playing through the first one on xbone and thinking of nabbing this for my birthday in a few days. How does it compare to the first?

it's way better compared to vanilla destiny 1. haven't had to do any tedious grinding! and there's just so much to do! it's all fun too!

is the matchmaking better (obviously its probably because most jumped ship to Destiny 2 but getting groups in 1 was a pain when I was going through it before)

and is there any noticeable benefit to importing (I heard there are some changes. Don't know how many here have it on xbox so debating)

Did all his milestones before my Hunter this week so he's actually a tad higher. Looks cooler too, I feel like Hunters got shafted this time around for armor.

so do you have to outfit each specific armor piece when it comes to using shaders (unlike in the first when you can do them all at once?)

Yes, and the shader is used up when you do so, so if you want all your armor to match, that's five, three more for your guns, another three if you want to go all-out and add your ghost, sparrow, and ship, and god help you if you switch guns often and want those to match as well.

checkpoints are determined by the fireteam leader. so as long as it's not either of them, you'll have the gauntlets done when you go back. they don't have to start from the beginning.
