I just saw it, it was god damn good.

Horror aspects were good, the kid actors were great, the movie was structured well

It was basically Goonies with Blood, Murder, and rape overtones

not even remotely trying to sound "Badass" at all but I didn't find the movie all that scary. Not that I'm knocking it for that, but The daunting atmosphere and the unsettling feeling of being watched at all times wayyyyy made up for it

It was a fun ride

It's more conventional than those. Again, it features a lot of isolation and jump scares (generated by an actual paranormal monster). Aren't those among the most traditional of horror elements? What would have made this more of a "real" horror film? More deaths?

People generally just don't like admitting that a horror movie can be really good because the genre has a bad rap.

In what is probably an inadvisable move, I started watching the IT miniseries

Spoiled myself rotten for Chapter 2 but eh

So far just made it to the Georgie scene, and surprisingly, I liked Bill as IT better than Tim for now. And I love Tim Curry.

Tim Curry was acting as Pennywise the Clown.
Bill Skarsgard was acting as It.

Part 1 watched

Huh

Was not expecting that to happen. Both on Henry Bowers' minions dying instead of just 1 and what happened to Stan. Good lord man, your experience, while horrible, wasn't that much worse to the others. But considering ****ing Judith in the new movie yeah I can see it.

And yeah now that I watched it, I kinda have to agree, Tim Curry's portrayal has more clownish attributes. Like I just started Part 2, and his line to Bill just made me laugh. "Oh except for that one at the end, that's already taken" (morbid though it is, Freddy Kreuger style), and I only felt his monstrosity when he reveals his fangs, whereas in the new movie He just plains unsettles me all the time.

So far I'm enjoying the miniseries. It's... not as scary as the movie, though still creepy as **** when it needs to be. I don't mind the bad special effects, comes with the time and budget. Some of the acting though, eesh.

My brother and I rented the miniseries on VHS a long time ago. However long ago renting VHS was still a thing. It came on two tapes and my brother put Part 2 in first on accident and we ended up watching it like that.

It was confusing.

Ugh, at least it's over

I'll be honest guys, if this is what's waiting for us in IT Chapter 2... well, consider me anti-hyped as all hell.

ltm's quote says it all. What in the actual **** are these "adults" doing? I keep waiting for these guys to get their **** together, and honest to god I actually missed the kid versions of these guys.
The TV miniseries ones. Sweet Jegus how do you make me prefer CHILD ACTORS compared to adult ones? HOW?

The one, shining light(s) in Part 2 is Tim Curry brought his Troll A-game to the thing. That **** at the library had me guffawing man. Soooooooo annoying.

Kinda want to watch the 2017 IT again after that. There's something about the group there that was just... magical. Like the perfect bunch of kids like in Goonies or some ****.

Also, I feel like separating the Framing devices completely between the Child and Adult portions of the thing was a good move. As much as I liked the first ep, I kind of disliked their flashbacks.

Also also, I got a question

What is WRONG with the town of Derry? Is it all IT's fault, making Derry such a neglectful little **** of a townthrough mind manipulation or some ****? Or is it populated entirely of jerkass adults by coincidence? Is it really something in the water?

man they sure did make that clown seem unsettling and scary. Weird

The clown wasn't unsettling or scary at all actually. The movie was fun and enjoyable but not scary at all.

Anyway, however you gotta justify long, lurking shots on a 15 year old in her underwear. Maybe you're a pedo because the girls are closer to you in height lol

^
Yeah I thought it was a good film but Pennywise was a disappointment that didn't have much to offer other than jump scares.

Pennywise was by far the least creepy thing about that movie. There was something far more sinister about the town itself. That's where I was most unsettled.

Outside of the first scene I didn't think Pennywise was all that impressive. IMO of course. Still liked the film though!

pretty sure it's all IT's fault, yeah. IT made all the adults in derry jerkasses by enlarging their negative traits.
