So, I was cleaning out the basement rooms in my house, and I saw this 40" Tube TV in our guest bedroom and got to thinking how uncommon something like that is now. We got the TV back in 2003 I think, and it still works great and has HD built in, but it weighs somewhere between 350-400 lbs. We don't need to get rid of it or replace it since it doesn't get much use other than when family comes in from out of town, but it got me wondering how close to relic status these things are starting to become.
I'm not even sure I will ever get rid of it because of the fact that it's over 350 lbs and in the basement, which is a lot of weight for me to carry up some stairs now that I am over 40 lol. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

I still have one from the 70s.
It's a Zenith. Only my N64 is hooked up to it at the moment though an RF switch. Oddly enough the upgraded CRT TV we got in 2001 has since died and trashed. The first non CRT TV was purchased in 2012, a 50 inch Plasma that I still use today as my main computer monitor. --- lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll ... He's talking about one of these
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rear-projection_television#/media/File:Early_HDTV_setup,_mid_2000s_tech.jpg Never had one myself, but my uncle and friend had one of their own. I thought this was about like, 80's tube TVs. Who calls a CRT a tube TV? Mostly everyone, since it's a cathode ray tube. It's just another way of saying a "not-flatscreen" TV.
