So as I mentioned a few days ago my school is planning a trip to England, and today we finally got details of it

It costs $4,000, and we have until summer to pay it off. So I'm never ever ever going to make that easily on my salary, so if you guys know any slick money trick please inform. I just moved recently and they're so many stores around! Hopefully I can nab a part time job :P
Of course, based around my own estimates I may need another $500 (euro?) just for food, shopping, and gifts. I'd LOVE to have one of those giant UK flags to complement my American flag.

Also, they're only allowing 30 people to go, so I really gotta hurry. The number can be changed if more people show interest, me and a friend were going to start a petition, and maybe research more ways all of us can stay there. Maybe include chaperones? I don't know.
They're using a reservation system, you can pay it off but it really seems faulty, I'm afraid I'm going to get kicked off any moment because someone else paid up front.

What do you guys think

I don't have nearly that amount. I barley have $100 at this moment :(
I'll just have to work three times harder and faster I guess

Ok so I did the math and I'll admit I'm not the greatest at math especially when I'm tired so feel free to double check me

Assuming by "summer" they mean the end of may, and using that as a dead line
I would need to make about $15.33 a day starting tomorrow

I just applied for a couple jobs this weekend job last Saturday (I'm super confident :D ) and usually it takes two weeks, maybe more, so assuming I get hired at the soonest possible time (12 days) I would need to make $16.04 a day.

So assuming I could get a weekend job on the 16th, and started that exact day, I would have to work 74 days until the end of may

So I'd have to make $54.04 each day.
the wages here vary but of the job I applied, from what've I heard for I'd make $8.89/hr

If I remember the changing times, adding both days together I could make $226.70 each weekend!
I haven't factored in taxes, nor do I know them, but if it continues like this consistently then it might work! Of course I'll be asking relatives for assistance, especially if I fall short my original goal of having $500 USD to spend (is that a lot in Euro?)

Does this sound right?

Autumn and Winter are coming...if you have neighbors, offer to rake leaves, shovel snow, mow lawns, clean out roof gutters, etc in exchange for money. Easy money and benefits as exercise.

Apply for seasonal jobs in retail, too, if you're available.

Actually you can use Euros in some stores and even Dollars or Yen. Best to stick with using pounds though as those stores are very limited.

I do, but I just recently moved to a residential area and I'm not sure if they have people that come in to do it.

If you don't know, ask. What's the worse they can say? Sorry, not interested?

Holiday shopping. Stores blimp up in sales and deals to attract Xmas/Christmas shoppers. These sales require extra help with stocking shelves, cashiering, deliveries, security, etc.

I imagine those are probably tourist stores, so probably the kind of thing he would be going to anyways.

But yea, get pounds. Even if you can pay in a foreign currency the conversion is probably not in your favor.

I don't know, I didn't actually go to the information meeting. It's supposed to be a 9 day trip and we're visiting some historic places like the Shakespeare theatre and Oxford. The thing I want to see is the Churchill museum. It's an all around trip, that's all I know :P

Ok update: My source was wrong, it's $4,270. I'm gonna do my calculations when I do get a weekend/part time job.
and they can possibly stretch it to 120 people, so I got a little breathing room.
