0AbsoluteZero0 09/16/17 4:06:17 PM #1:	80/80 Growing up, Captain Planet one of my favorite cartoons. I couldn't wait to see a new adventure every Saturday, and my sisters and I would always pretend that we had Planeteer rings (nobody ever wanted to be the Heart guy, lol). The other day, I was thinking about what Captain Planet would be like in the present. I believe that if a pro-environment, Earth-friendly show like Captain Planet was announced today, conservatives would have a fit. The producers would be accused of brainwashing our children with their "liberal agenda" and would likely even be threatened by some nutjobs. There's a good chance that the show would have to tone down its message, or even get shut down outright due to the backlash. It's sad that this anti-intellectual and anti-science mindset has been allowed to pervade the once reasonable Republican Party. Nowadays, they're the only major political party in the world that denies the reality of man-made climate change.
