Started my fourth year of undergrad last month. Kinda sad to see it coming to an end, but pretty happy to almost be done. Including this semester, I've still got three to go, so it's not like I'll be done any time soon <_<
I'm starting to think my minor in Public Health might be stupid, and might switch it to a minor in Econ, but I'm still not 100% on that. I'm starting to look into grad schools for a public policy program, but I don't think I'm good enough to get into any that I want to. I've also been toying with the idea of getting an M.S. in business or finance, but that's an even further stretch. A lot of my professors and advisors are recommending law school but that's such a soulless career :/ I wish I knew what I wanted to do with my lifeeeee. I think I'm leaning towards something in academia though? I love talking to my professors and TAs about the research they're doing/have done and all the traveling they've done and all that jazz. I have no clue what I'd want to do, though. I think if I don't get into my top five grad school choices I'll try to find a job somewhere and pick school back up later. I should probably pay down some of my massive debt anyway >___< I've started talking to my district's rep's office, and it's looking like I can get an internship at his local office next semester and get credit at the same time, so that's cool. I'm also looking at doing an internship either in D.C. or London next Fall, but those are highly competitive and I'm not really that great an applicant. Other than that, I'm wanting to do some traveling this summer. With the student org that I'm in I'll probably be spending a week or two in Washington and Canada in May, and I'm signing up for a study abroad trip to Germany (Berlin), Poland (Poznan), Austria (Vienna), Hungary (Budapest), and the Czech Republic (Prague) for July/August. And beyond all that, I feel like for the first time in a really long time, I'm starting to be happy with myself, but that's due largely in part because I feel accepted and wanted by other people. I have a really fragile self-esteem so as soon as something I perceive as bad happens, I'm going to have a really shitty couple of weeks/months. I wish I could avoid it since I know it's stupid, but things are what they are I guess. Gotta hold on to the good while I can. --- Proud to be EPic Texas Aggie, Class of 2018 A-Whoop! ...
