You can certainly make a pretty nice Wind or holy team out of that.

I'd really draw for a shout/clone if you could, that would seem to be a god send for you.

Okay dumb it down for me a bit. What would you suggest I use?

Agrias BSB, Beatrix BSB, Cid OSB, support (probably Ramza Chant) Eiko BSB. For Holy. Use Beatrix to Imperil all enimes then absolutely destroy with holy light.

Someone more knowledgeable then me can say if Ceodore's BSB is a fair swap for any of them.

For wind it's even simpler.

Zidane BSB to imperil, Cloud BSB to destroy everything that moves. And then you want to some way get your hands on Zack's BSB or CSB eventually. Till then stay with Ramza and Eiko, and maybe go with Yuna. Tenants of the Faith is great, and she can also summon for damage. Bring Tiamat.

which of those provide atk buff, mag buff, or haste for the whole party? the only one of those i have is Tyro's USB <_<

i think i remember Yuna's BSB being a mag buff, and i assume something out of Sazh/Red XIII would be some combination of atk/mag/haste as well.

i don't know if i'd recommend a wind or holy team. you've got the two holy imperil clones, Beatrix and Agrias but nothing to really take advantage of them. for wind, i don't even see an imperil or chain in there, and Alphinaud needs hones, so that seems even less plausible.

honestly i think your best bet is doing all the damage with Tidus with Cloud USB RW. he is miles above your other characters. make wrath and entrust, use 2-3 of Sazh/Red XIII/Ramza/Tyro, probably Sarah as healer or maybe add Eiko or Yuna in there, feed Tidus meter and go nuts. try and at least get sapphire shot to rank 3.

yeah that looks good aside from Yuna but she could work. if you need a second healer, you could drop either Red XIII or Ramza, depending on how close you can get to 805 atk without Red XIII.

I'd kill Tyro for Eiko. Eiko's BSB is a full party heal with crit boost.

Tyro is needed for hastega

also Eiko doesn't do anything when you're using Cloud USB because that sets your crit to 100%

Defense really doesn't matter anymore. Hell levels barely matter (except 65, since that lets you use motes)

You do want to get Tyro and Cloud to 99 though because their level 99 RM is a free bar of Soul Break.

No it's not that's their Level 80 RM.

Cloud's Level 99 is +30% Sword Damage and Tyro's is +30% damage when attacking weaknesses

Well, get them both level 65 broken and spam fights till you get the drop.

Is Tidus Legend dived? If not his DPS by himself might not be up to snuff against torments/Apocalypse. Also I recommend saving up for Ramza's BSB2 (on one of the Christmas fests/Orlandeau banner) or Onion Knight's USBs. You'll need a native haste+damage buff since you lack wall, or you can try Faris with her USB2+Full break+ power/magic breakdowns/dances, I use that over wall in Jump Start torments.

Garuda's torment opened tonight, she was the easiest torment yet, Cid Mission was pretty easy with Papalymo, Alph, Tranricd, Minfilia and Y'shtola (gee that's a lot of white hair) and Bartz with Cloud USB KFC'd the harder difficulties. The ability buff on meteor and summons makes dealing with the mobs so much easier now as well.

You haven't been doing the Jump start fights to get 5* motes? They're pretty easy, just use your best physical attacker with Cloud USB RW most of the time. I think we got some for free around the 30th anniversary event as well.

Alright. I'm going to go back a bit-- forgive me if I go back too far but I have a friend who had trouble with 180s too despite having the gear for it and it turned out there were a few "newbie" things he was doing so I'll sweep through those first.

1. For boss fights, you put the battle speed down to 1 in the pause menu, right? The ATB input delay murders your action efficiency at even 2 speed.

2. Mandatory things to bring to boss fights: Protectga and Shellga (or bard songs that do the same), Hastega from a soul break. All mandatory things for boss fights. Ideally you also use Full Break and Magic/Power Breakdown, the equivalent Dances, or soul breaks that do those things.

3. Put the start soul break record materia on one of your hastega users, as you need that up ASAP

If you're doing both of those and still being murdered on turn 3 with the soul break compositions they're giving you with those in mind, then I'm not sure, but yeah particularly that first one is a newbie trap.

Your BASE defense doesn't matter. Boost attack or magic.

Then you
Use Shellga Protectga Magic Breakdown, Attack Brwakdown and full break. (And Wall
If you have it)

Honestly unless you're doing magicite dungeons you can go pretty light on synergy as long as you have some basics covered

Proud Clad or Atlas? I forgot how OP Proud Clad is, so ignore him for now. He's too fast and you can't break his drones so you need wall and other defense buffs.

Atlas is pretty standard, just watch out for his Roar that removes protect/shell/haste.

Beat the damn thing, full medals too. Just the timing at the end caused a few S/Ls. Barba was a fucking slog, only got complete, didn't bring enough damage. Going to finish the last two, then come back and destroy her for the mastery rewards.

Congrats. I wish I had that one but I can't really justify pulling here since Bismarck is already my fastest Magicite and there are a bunch of other banners coming up I like better overall.

my lightning game wasn't too great. perhaps enough to beat Bismark, but i hadn't actually tried. Fran imperil, Shantotto BSB, Desch BSB. but Ashe is the only character i really like of that element.

overall i like the Orlandu banner better because it's both him and Ramza, and both Orlandu OSB and USB would be really good. but this banner is better than the next XII event imo because of Vaan, so i didn't want to wait until like, maybe-the-fest-after-next to pull for Ashe.

I think the main thing you need is a Hastega+Buff SB. As such, I suggest drawing for Onion Knight's USB, early january.
His physical USB would probably be your top prize, but his mage USB could be a foundation of an amazing mage team. Even his BSB will work as a decent substitute for both physical and magical.

wait for Orlandu banner instead of Onion Knight. Ramza is there, his BSB2 is almost as good as Onion Knight's physical buff USB and he's your favorite character.

though Onion Knight has 3 different buffs; one really good for physical, one really good for magical, and one hybrid that's still decent but old. so maybe pull there too and stop once you get any of the three.

if you really like Ashe or Vaan you could pull on this banner. Reks BSB is another haste+atk buff you might happen to run into.

Cloud USB is of course ridiculous so you could go for phase 3 of Christmas banners, though you already have Tidus CSB and Cloud BSB2 so that's kinda risky dupe-wise.

imo phase 4 of Christmas is also good, perhaps your best bet of the Christmas banners. Lightning USB, Squall BSB2 and two CSBs.
