If it's close then you might as well pull now (or at least do one draw now) and get an extra 3 month of use out of whatever you draw. For me it's not close though - I already have Ramza USB and Ramza SSB2, which are the two things that get moved off the banner next time. Right now I'm saving my mythril for the upcoming Terra banner, plus maybe Onion Knight and/or whatever fest we get.

BTW, upcoming banners are at the bottom of the PDF.

well, it's only close because of that extra 3 months. otherwise i could simply pull on banner 1 + 2 of the next event, which would result in fewer dupes than trying to pull banner 1 of each event. like say i get both of Ramza's new things from this event... how do i come back and pull for Orlandu? then i might have to wait for the next fest or event after that to feature him, and it probably won't have all 3 things at once like that.

His BSB2 makes shout obsolete and chant and USB are situational. Through all 3 are good in full throttle.

Unless you're talking about his BSB1 which pretty much useless these days.

Everytime Marche uses a Knight ability he grants quickcast to all front row party members. Godlike for sub 30ing Magicite, even the next ones in the future.

Yes because it's dumb on certain characters,especially those who are already fast like Bartz, Tidus and thieves (it pretty much makes their attacks instant) and it lets you take advantage of chains more (some Japanese players don't even use attack buffs, just WoL's chain with Marche and WoL using Guardbringers doing 5x9999s, Or Ignus with the earth version of that ability) Oh and more use out of Cloud USB RW as well.

just beat my first magicite. liquid flame of course, with Tidus CSB/BSB2/LMR, Bartz OSB, Ramza shout, Larsa BSB, Eiko BSB. 35 seconds. can maybe sub 30 once i get Tidus full dived and/or get whatever magicite boosts water. Bartz full dive could help a lot too, though probably not worth it with what i have for him.

not sure what i can do next. if i farmed liquid flame to the max, how much passive fire damage could i get? about all i have for fire is Seph OSB, but no en-fire (dena can fuck right off for never giving us tyro select 3). and then Bartz OSB again, and Balthier's imperil SSB.

ice is probably my best bet, with Squall BSB2/OSB (and USB, but idk if i'd ever use that). i also have Edea's BSB, but i'm not sure i can get her to 6 hits unless i take Rikku or something. it's also probably not as good as just taking an entruster in that spot.

+20% is the theoretical maximum. Basically for each separate bonus, you get the full value of the first one and it's halved for each subsequent value. So for fire you can have 10 + 10/2 + 10/4 + 10/8 + 10/16 if you devote all five Magicite slots to fire bonuses (not worth it). They also take forever to get to level 99.

If you can sub 30 one of them that's even better than Torment farming for orbs, as well as making the 20 per month mythril easier. Problem is the keystones limit.

That's awesome news. I just need to figure out, which orb I want to farm.

Probably Dark, but Ice and Summon are also worth considering.

I have a decent stock of Dark (298), but they are needed in so many abilities.
My Ice stock is much lower (164), but I'm already slaughtering Ruby Dragon for them.
Summon is my lowest (94), but there's only so many Summon orbs you can actually use, and I already have r5 Bahamut and Tiamat.

Apparently Fire is my next lowest (226), but I don't know if there are many abilities that need those.

Well, I quit.

I got kind of burned out by magicites and the FFIV event was the first event I purposefully didnt complete due to desire since the game came out.

I had been looking forward to the FFT banner for months so I thought that might spark my interest again and I went 0/55 for the 4 relics I wanted.

Oh well.

Ive been playing a new F2P game and I try desperately to limit myself to 2 F2P games at a time max so I needed to make a cut anyways.

It was fun.

Lineage 2 Revolution. Ive always been a sucker for MMOs and the game is like half MMO half Clicker.

The game play is kind of dumb minus the raids but I like the collaborative effort inside the clans. Lots of planning events and such.

My biggest gripe with FFRK was it was pretty much a F2P single player game even after the multiplayer rolled out. It always felt kind nobody really cared what anyone else pulled because it didnt matter

Magicite is what's killing my drive. I can't beat one of them with my party of 99s. I might be able to get Bismarck if I get my Lightning and stack imperil Lightning on top of what I already.

I can see where you guys are coming from, but you know that content is like the meta. It's really meant to give people with the best stuff something to do.

You don't have to feel compelled to do it if you don't want to. I'd say you guys are in a really good position in the game anyways if you're already that far. There's nothing wrong with going more casual and just doing the events and dungeon updates as they come.

You don't even have to do that stuff, current daily dungeons are decent enough, torments and magicite just give more bang for the stamina buck and choice of what orb to farm. The dailies are going to get updated soon anyway with increased odds of getting majors or even crystals now.

I have to go back to farming Holy Orbs since I blew a bunch getting Guardbringer to r4, though I wasn't really doing much with them anyway. Is Saint Cross still worth honing these days? It still only does two hits, I'm thinking of a Marche/Agrias/Ramza/Shelke/Rosa for a potential sub30ing Shadow Dragon team, Marche will have Divine Cross and Guardbringer, I was thinking that maybe Saint Cross on Agrias would do good damage at the start to help skip the black fang phase because of it's high multiplier but it is limited by two hits.

Yeah never branch out beyond 2 imo, or if you do, seriously trim your investment on each of them individually.

well torments i don't really feel compelled to farm at all. that feels like complete try-harding (like that low stamina FFVII event). but i need to do a magicite dungeon 2 out of every 3 days to earn all the possible mythril, and there's only 1 i know i can beat. plus to get the magicites themselves.

It's a lot of work for 2-5 mythril. If it really makes you feel bad to miss mythril just spend a buck a month on gems.

Farming Magicite isn't that bad if you can get the right relics through, especially with the ability buff out now. Since I whaled on the FFX banner I got lots of new water boosting equipment and thankfully I got Tidus' USB on the black Friday banner. Now Liquid Flame is a piece of cake to sub 30.

There's going to be more "anti-magicite" relics in the future. We even got some anti-magicite relics recently with the FFX and FFTA. The upcoming FFXIII-2 banner is pretty much made for sub30ing Fenrir, the FF6 banner is loaded with Terra and Locke relics for Sealion (including a chain for Locke) And Onion Knight's USBs are a powercreep of themselves.

Besides the 4* Magicites are going to be much worse, apparently even if you can sub 30 one of the current magicite the new ones can still wreck you.

Ultimates mastered. Very, very easy other than Mateus but even then I'd only call her (him?) hard for a Tactics Ultimate, she's still easy. Just don't forget slow resist.

Babus mostly just uses weak normal attacks and sometimes fire and has low HP. He has 100% counter but he's so weak it's not even a threat. Apparently he has stop but I didn't see it since he died so quickly. Agrias with Divine Cross+Guardbringer and Ramza's BSB2 command 1 killed him so fast Marche didn't get enough meter from Lifesiphon to use his Ultra.

Adrammelech was one of the easiest Cid Missons, he is also weak and while he does start with a slowga attack he's also in the same realm with everyone's favorite shouter who just got a shiny upgrade. He has no magic attacks either so leave shellga. I RW Wall so Agrias could get 4 hits, and he had more HP so that March could use his USB this time and he just got slaughtered by a flurry of holy knight attacks. Also don't forget to bring an ice attack for medals.

Mateus I went mage and used my Mist Dragon team except I swapped Shelke for Tyro. She actually hits pretty hard on some of her moves most noticeably spellbind which is a ranged physical attack (I was wondering why it did so much damage after full Break + Moogle Justice since it looks and sounds like a magic attack) Still not too bad, bring slow resist or use Astra as her 100% slowga is most dangerous attack.

regular ultimates are pretty much irrelevant at this point. i just blasted through it with my B Tactics team.

now as i'm thinking about what to use for the U++, is it just me or were those 5* witch abilities just made completely irrelevant by the chain upgrades? i can't imagine a situation where they do much more than 40k damage on anything relevant, and longer cast time to boot. even in this fight, the lowest difficulty of any relevance anymore, if i could get Rapha at the soft cap for magic against a 100% weakness using Squall's +30% ice RM and the Tactics +20% ice rod, i calculate it'd do just barely over 40k. it's pretty much the perfect situation for its use and it's still inferior to chain blizzaga cause she can't cast it nearly as often (not to mention i can't actually get her magic that high unless i have her RW Raines BSB, and either MC3 her or cast faith).

Witch Abilities are pretty much used for chain soul breaks or the quick cast 4* for building meter, or if you have Allegro Con Moto or something to lower cast time, but yeah other than that they aren't that useful. Adrammelech's not hard enough that you need to build a team around his weakness, especially since FFT doesn't have any Ice soul breaks besides Delita. I just slapped Icicle Shot on Mustadio for medals.

well i just meant that on anything difficult it seems like it'd be impossible to actually get more DPS out of witch spells than chain spells. is a CSB and en-element really enough to make a difference when magicites have like, 4x as much res and only 50% weakness?

Welcome to the team, Eiko. I pulled a lot of FFIX stuff trying to get Steiner things and got Eiko things so I rolled with her.

Current team is Tidus/Bartz/Cid R/Yuna/Eiko and I don't have the good stuff for Cid R and might replace him with Faris or Ramza (but I don't feel like pulling this event actually so who knows, going to start saving mythril for a rainy day (read: I want steiner to be useful damnit)

I think the biggest problem with the Magicites is the keystones... They make it so you feel like you're really falling behind if you're capped at 15/15 and not using them. That plus the need to collect 4 of each one to bring them to level 99 puts on a degree of pressure that shouldn't be there. It was stressing me out when I was having trouble with them earlier. Now I'm feeling okay again because I got 4x of each Magicite and I can just blaze through Bismarck or Sealion to use my keystones and get some decent orbs. (I don't farm Shadow Dragon because that run is more iffy and I don't want to have to take time and S/L when I'm just farming.)

If you have to go for a Steiner relic go for the OSB on the second banner. His BSB2 is meh (good coverage but the damage can't really compete with the buffed abilities) and his USB is one of the worst in the game. His OSB is one of the better ones because of the damage multiplier increase on weakness and triple elements.

The Dungeon update Lucky Draw tomorrow now has Legend Materia! Huzzah!

only 3/8 relics are SSBs, so it's still quite a bit better than the mythril:not-SSB ratio of a normal banner

though pretty light on USBs, ends up being a bit worse than the mythril:USB ratio of a normal banner. LMR ends up a bit better.

so good for OSBs and BSBs, basically.
