The best thing about this event is... no trash stages! I've been playing since Countdown to Destruction (event #3) and I'm pretty sure this is the first event that hasn't had a single round of trash.

Wasn't there that one FF1 event that had no trash stages as well? It was in the renewal dungeons I think. I think awakening Cloud didn't have trash yet either but that may be because of how short it was.

Looks like we're getting some new Christmas accessories as a log in bonus, one resists both ice and holy so it's perfect for Mist Dragon's freezing mist.

I beat Raid Caius and got vitality motes, and finally got Agrias fully 4* dived, no bravery motes so I can't legend dive her yet.

Also Magicite Half off ends this Friday, so make the best of the time left for major orbs or just farming magicite.

Half tempted to give Sazh an 11 draw or two here to make him usable because I don't have any source of Shout other than Ward's thing and Sazh actually has a lot of good toys on this banner

Are the Lightning relics here good? I have her USB-- seems like the Burst and the Legend Materia for her would be strong too.

Her Record Materia is good, BSB2 is good but a bit dated with ability buff overshadowing the commands, her OSB is trash through.

I wouldn't pull on these banners through with the lucky draws, fest and Onion Knight banner coming up. If you need a shout save up in hope of getting OK's Ninja USB, it's shout + 50% critical chance increase party buff and he gets Firion's USB gimmick where physical attack cast times shorten each use.

You said you wanted to sub30 Magicite right? Onion Knight is really good for Magicite because of how versatile he is. He has arguably the best shout/faithaga, an instant cast legend materia relic, works as an entrust battery, dualcast black magic legend dive materia, best overall stats in the game, huge skillset ect. He fits in almost any speedrunning team saving you motes in the long run.

The Jump start for Atlas is still greyed out, I was hoping Dena would fix that by the morning (especially since Daily Dungeons are going to be updated tomorrow so I want to use that 60 stamina when there's barely anything to do)

I would like to sub 30, but I value playing this game my way over efficiently-- I mean I have a bit of flexibility. I use Tyro in the Crystal Tower floors, but there are certain characters I don't want to be staples of my team. Frankly Gordon, who I'm using as my buffer right now, is very borderline in this regard and Sazh would be an excellent improvement over him.

I also think Sazh has a skillset that seems completely competent at dropping buffs, looking at what he can do. I'm thinking if I can't get Ramza stuff and I don't want to use Tyro or Onion Knight he's probably the best option in the game.

Need to refresh on those anniversary banners though

Magicite are 80% resistant to breaks (except Ixion but that's because he spams dispels) so Sazh won't be that great in the long run, especially since he can't really do much damage himself like OK or Tyro (through ninja magic) his burst commands are low breaks which won't even be noticeable on magicite and Sazh's overall stats are low as well.

You can probably beat magicite with him but sub 30 is going to be a lot harder if you invest in him over OK. You don't really have a lot of leeway when sub30ing bosses with 550k-a million HP, huge def/res stats and no synergy.

Are there any good buffers aside from OK, Tyro, and Ramza? Zack has an ATK+50% buff I noticed, but I feel like most of the options aren't much better on damage than Sazh is.

Zack is garbage without his chain and BSB, all he can really do is lifesiphon and powerchain. Once he does get his chain and BSB off he actually becomes good DPS.

Cid Highwind has a shout clone, Minfilia has a 50% attack buff on her super with last stand, there may be a couple more I'm forgetting at the moment.

Ramza's BSB2 returns on the next FFT event in late January/Febuary if you want to wait for that as well.

So far the only pullable relic for me is Ignus' chain, I'd like Locke, Seymour and Krile's chains but I can already sub30 Sealion and Mist Dragon. Almost everything else I either have or don't really need.

...Probably won't have much myhtril left to spend anyway after the lucky draws. Hopefully I 100 gems something nice.

I probably do one pull on banner 3 because I still want Force Stealer and I'd like Tidus or Zack chains, even if I'm okay on those elements. Maybe pull on banner 4 because I still need something good for ice, but it will depend on the specifics of the banner. I'm not a big fan of Snow.

I've been really looking forward to the Terra banner because Terra, Celes, and Locke are three of my favorite characters. I'm pretty good on Fire though, and I also want to draw on the OK banner. And I only have around 200 mythril, since this will be tough.

Keep them separate so Rikku can use one, it's a native water boost so it can help with her BSB.

You can keep Tidus in the back row for extra defense though, also since it's ranged it also give Sharpshooter abilities a damage boost that makes up for the lower attack on the weapon.

Looks like a ton of performance optimizations came out as well if you update from the play store.

The game doesn't lag with certain animations, the cursor is never offset when starting the game up-- game just runs a ton more smoothly in general-- iOS people probably won't notice as much but for someone like me who was on Android 7.0 it's a HUGE deal

Hmm, yeah, that kinda sucks, I have 4 dupes on the Wind/Water banner. Maybe still do one draw there, but I'm not sure. If it had Zidane USB instead of Kimahri it would be a lot more tempting.

I think banner 4 is a must because my ice situation is bad. I already have both the Lightning items though... but that's it.

The other banners aren't very tempting at all, I just don't care about most of the characters on them.

honestly you don't really need hones of anything other than full break/multibreak and 4* skills to complete non-magicite stuff, so long as you have the right relics. and if you don't have the right relics, those hones won't really help a whole lot anyway.

oh man i just used Vivi USB as a RW for the XIII CM. that thing might be more OP than Cloud. at least in this case where i'm loaded with faithgas and 5*+ magic weapons. after all the setup, Chaos Bahamut died in one Noel USB, some lifesiphons/breaks, one triple-casted chain firaga and one double-casted meltdown.

also where are you getting stuck? you can generally just lifesiphon, Cloud USB RW, spam soul breaks for anything under difficulty 200. along with full break, magic/power breakdown as needed, protectga/shellga as needed, haste+atk buff on your guy summoning Cloud if not the whole party.

i'm guessing you don't have Tyro's sentinel grimoire or Y'shtola's Stoneskin II then? i don't generally bother with that for anything under 200, but i have pretty much every character level 75+ so that helps with survivability.

Cloud USB is so good because it has a flat 30% damage buff, 100% crit chance (so another multiplicative 50% damage buff, so 95% total) and allows you to break the damage cap. for it to really help, you want your attack at the soft cap first, which is 805. shout is +50% attack, most others are +30%, and they're multiplicative (like base attack x 1.5 x 1.3).

Cloud's USB allows all attacks to break damage cap. It also gives a huge self attack boost and auto critical. So you mix that with like Shout or VoF and something like Chant that doubles all Critical damage and he is truly truly frigtening. Potentially even more so using it as a RW. I can routinely get Wind boosted Luneth to do 35,000 times 4 on his burst command 1.

...You had me at break damage cap jesus christ how did I miss that.

Cloud's USB is arguably more useful as an RW than it is native (unless you have the BSB2 combo.

Regardless, if you PM me your list of SSB and above relics, I will gladly help you out. Wouldn't mind levels of most characters too, if possible. If not, all good. I know you've already been offered help, so all good if you go with that too/instead, but I'll gladly help if needed.
